VALENTINES

Many people celebrate Valentine’s Day by showing appreciation for the people they love and adore. It’s also a time to appreciate friendship.  

At the Red Lion Hotel our chef has puts together a special three course menu each Valentines year.  We also have our normal menu available on the night.

Next year Valentine’s Day falls on Thursday, 14th February 2019.

For those wanting to make a night of it we always offer a Valentines Stay Over package which includes our Valentine’s Menu for two, a stay over in a double room and breakfast the next morning.

Our Menu for 2018 was

served with a glass of Prosecco

Starters

Classic Italian minestrone soup
Smoked salmon platter with red onions and capers
Chicken terrine served with tomato chutney and ciabatta
Duo of melon with red berries compote and mango sorbet (v)

Main Courses

Rack of lamb topped with lime herb crust and served with dauphinoise potatoes, red wine reduction
Corn fed chicken served with veloute sauce and saute potatoes
Oven baked cod loin with garlic, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and new potatoes
Wild mushroom and pea ravioli with white wine and fresh herb cream (v)

All main courses served with seasonal vegetables on the side

Desserts

Dark chocolate fondant accompanied with vanilla ice cream
Baked vanilla cheesecake with clotted cream and fruit coulis
Lemon posset with homemade shortbread biscuit
Selection of cheeses, crackers, celery and homemade chutney
